World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to increase the gear score of an item upgrader kit up to 700 and add a final perk. Items can be upgraded if they're in your inventory and you take them to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For instance, a perfectly broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items like weapons don't really change after an upgrade and aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, like attack damage, crit chance and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons come with a flat rate bonus that increases damage per second. Many weapons also have an unaffected bonus that is activated when three or more identical weapons are used in a unit. This bonus may exceed the damage that an upgrade alone can do.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the quality of the weapon and its current level. For instance, an upgrade to a +2 weapon requires two standard Smithing Stones while a+3 requires four. The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue increase until it is required to use the higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgrading weapons will also reroll their base stats. This is usually a positive aspect, but it may also have negative consequences. In the case of items that are only used in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB Sorcs, for example) upgrading them can render them unusable unless you have an extremely lucky roll.

Upgrades can be made to armor items to boost their stats. For instance, if you have a helm or chest, this will increase the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers an option to reroll its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it may roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template for a weapon shows the new stats that it will get when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that a change from an 8 attack-damage sword to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon receiving an attack damage of 3. The 3% difference does not mean that the weapon will hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon can be possible by pressing the green button on the item menu with the arrows that are circling. This will roll the item and alter its stats, but it won't reset the weapon's level nor tie it to the account status.

Armor

A few armor upgrades can make a huge difference to your survival. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which makes it easier to navigate through tough terrain. In general, the greater defense you have on your character, the more health you'll gain from each point. Therefore, it's a good idea to upgrade your armor.

To upgrade your armor, go to any of the Great Fairy Fountains in the game. There are four fountains in all and each one requires you to complete a unique side quest that involves the Stable Trotters musical troupe. After you've completed the main quest and the corresponding fountains, you'll have the option of talking to any Great Fairy in order to unlock the menu for upgrading armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded up to three levels and the amount of materials and Rupees required for each level will differ. In general, you'll need at anything from three to five Red Chuchu Jellies and 10 Rupees for the first upgrade, and anywhere between five Rubies and ten Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For example the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a decent-sized group of enemies in most cold conditions and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded up to +20 defense, granting you enough protection to withstand a full on raid with a few of your friends.

It's important to note that armor cannot be upgraded the same way as weapons, so you'll need to focus on upgrading it to gain physical strength if you're a Warrior or Spell Power in the case of Mage. You should also save your armor upgrades to upgrade the armor that you will still be wearing by the end of the story, like the Ring of Lightning, Spectral Shield or the mask you use in the final boss fight the Monter Parts Merchant Mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock some perks on your armor. You'll typically want to keep these upgrades to the weapon that you'll use to win the game. For example, the Longsword or Battleaxe. But it's useful to have some upgrades to the armor on your chest and helmets so that you can sneak around some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the participant, produce the player with a temporary effect. There are five kinds of potions with different effects and durations. Some potions may be upgraded, increasing their level of effect. In addition the effects of some potions can be enhanced by adding redstone or glowstone dust to them.

Potion upgrades require a certain amount XP. This can be obtained by crafting them on a crafting table or by placing them in the Alchemist chest. However, the cost of upgrading will vary based on the kind of potion you wish to upgrade, and also on the item upgrades's Mark Level and rarity.

To upgrade a potion, right-click on it in your inventory and choose the "Upgrade" option from the menu. This will open an GUI that lets you choose the potion that you wish to upgrade, and the amount of experience they will provide when upgraded. You can upgrade potions in batches of up to five at a time, and their XP will be added to the total XP you currently have.

Once a potion has been upgraded, it will not degrade until you re-use it, or break the bottle it is stored in. You can also rename the potion by clicking it in your inventory.

There were a few updates to the mechanics of potions in version 1.7.2. For example splash potions now have a duration of zero,08 seconds (this is not the same as 22.5 seconds shown on the hover display for the item level upgrade). The potion table is now made of four Wood Planks, and two Glass. This allows it to be utilized by players playing Survival and Bedrock. Bedrock Edition potions aren't compatible with cauldrons, as is the case with Java Edition. The same applies to the use of a potion in the cauldron that is filled. This will draw out the liquid, and then refill the bottle.

There are also simmering potions made using splash and dragon breath potions. Redstone can also be added to lingering potions to enhance their effect. The table of potions has been rearranged to appear more like the Java Edition. New potions have also been added, like the potion of leaping as well as decomposition.

Trinkets

A trinket is an ornamental item that is small, cheap or piece jewelry. It could also refer to an ornament or object that serves a purpose, but isn't important, like a thimble. In some cultures a trinket is used to express friendship or affection between family members.

In addition to armor, weapons and potions, players are able to upgrade their trinkets. These can be upgraded by going to an upgrade vendor and paying the appropriate currency. Unlike other item upgrades, trinkets can be traded out at any time without losing their stats.

The upgrade vendors are found in major cities and in the capital of each zone, as well as in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets can be bought with tokens, gold or fragments of a rare trinket.

Upgrades to trinkets are an affordable alternative to buying a new one. It is possible to upgrade players for just 12 tokens. The new trinket has the same base level as the old trinket, but will also have an additional 1% bonus upgrade.

Trinkets can be upgraded once the old ones are no longer needed and allows players to increase their power and worth over time. They can also be traded between players, making them an attractive alternative to gold.

In general, players should upgrade their most important items first. This usually means the Best item upgrade-in-slot items for their class, followed by their secondary items and finally, other gear items that they won't replace soon (for example an earring or cloak). Players should also consider their class's preferred stats when selecting which items to upgrade. For example If Haste and Crit are the two most important stats for tankers it is recommended that they upgrade their chest, helm shoulders, belt, and chest.

Trinkets can be upgraded to a higher level once they are no longer useful and the new trinket will receive an additional upgrade bonus of 1. However, a re-upgrade can cause the trinket to be destroyed, unless it is salvaged using the Black Lion Salvage Kit or a higher-tier salvage tool. This makes upgrading trinkets more expensive than other upgrades, but is still cheaper than buying the new one.
